Golden Tides is a photographic journey through the wild beauty of Bruny Island and its surrounding shores—a place where golden light falls across ancient rocks, waves meet untouched beaches, and wildlife lives to the rhythm of the Southern Ocean.

Its pages journey beneath the surface of crystal-clear waters, revealing the colours, textures and hidden beauty of the underwater world, before returning to the shoreline, where powerful waves rise and crash against ancient rocks, illuminated by the warmth of golden light.

Alongside intimate wildlife encounters, dramatic seascapes and peaceful coastal landscapes, the photographs are woven together with powerful and meaningful quotes about healing, courage, resilience and finding the strength to keep going through life’s toughest moments.

Some pages are quiet and dreamlike, capturing moments of stillness and wonder. Others reveal the untamed power of the Southern Ocean—wild, unpredictable and breathtakingly beautiful.

Through my lens, I wanted to capture more than beautiful scenery. This collection is about the feeling of being somewhere wild: the movement of the sea, the changing light, quiet encounters with wildlife, rugged coastlines, hidden beaches and those fleeting moments in nature that disappear almost as quickly as they arrive.

There is also a touch of mystery woven through these pages. Bruny Island can feel like a place caught between the real and the mythical, where sea caves hide in the cliffs, golden horizons stretch into the distance and, just perhaps, a mermaid might be waiting beyond the next rocky shore.

Golden Tides is my celebration of the ocean, wildlife and wild places—and of the magic that appears when we slow down long enough to notice it.
